I have countless memories with Mary. Doug and I became close friends in high school, and I immediately felt like family. Every time I stopped by the house, Mary wouldn’t let me leave without eating…hungry or not! She always had something on the stove…a ham, a chicken, a turkey. She would sit me down at the kitchen table and put a plate of food in front of me. If she wasn’t cleaning up or tending to the pets, she would sit with me and ask me how I was doing. She was always so genuine and made me feel like one of her own.
Countless sporting events…
Dinners at Joes…
Trips to Disney…
Family events…
And so many more…
Into adulthood, our relationship never waned. The invitations continued and we never lost touch. I often confided in her and she was always willing to listen.
Not only did I gain a lifelong friend in Doug, but a second mom in Mary. I will never forget her kindness, care for others and affection for animals. I don't now how she showed so much love to so many, but I truly felt it and always will!
I miss you Mary…and love you! Gone way too soon…
Xoxo,
Corey
